About Speed Racer Crochet

Hi Humans!

I'm Krissy, the founder of Speed Racer Crochet! We sell handmade crochet items crafted with love. We make plushies, hats, scarves, bandanas, bags, ear warmers, and many more. We also love to give back and donate crochet items to hospital patients/staff and we facilitate "random acts of crochet" where we give out randomly selected crochet items to service workers. I lost my mother in 2023 and I knew I wanted to honor her with my business name. I learned to crochet a a few months before she passed. I had made her a beautiful green hat and scarf but, sadly, I was never able to give it to her. She always called my toddler "chunky boy" and I thought that would be a cool way to honor her. "Chunky Boy Crochet" had a nice ring to it. I did a quick google search and found out there was already a "Chunky Boy Crochet" (a rather famous creator too). I was a little disheartened but then I looked down and realized I was wearing these black and white checkered pants that my mom loved. She would say, "Hey Speed Racer! I bet your friends don't know that one!" Voila, Speed Racer Crochet was born. I'm also a pretty fast crocheter so it definitely tracks. I hope that you enjoy your items.
